It’s July 29th and you know what that means…Windows 10 gets pushed out to users running Windows 8.1 or Windows 7!
This update is free and costs you NOTHING. There are some confusing articles out there stating that you shouldn’t upgrade because you’ll lose your license for current Windows 7 or 8.1, present bugs on Windows 10 make it impossible to use, unfinished product, you will have to pay for the Windows 10 upgrade after one year, etc.
Let’s get a few things straight. This is a FREE upgrade to users running legitimate copies of Windows 7 or 8.1. If you used a pirate copy, then you’ll have to deal with the consequences it brings. The FREE upgrade is valid for one year. After July 29th 2016 you will have to pay to upgrade, but for the tie being it’s FREE for the life of your laptop, no strings attached. I’ve been luck to have bought a US region laptop and to receive the upgrade yesterday. It’s been a solid 8 hours running it and from my experience, I can say it runs smoother than Windows 8.1, my keyboard doesn’t glitch out, its fast, apps open fast without lag, and it looks beautiful.
I did however run into a problem installing it the first time. I didn’t install some recommended update so it had to revert back to Windows 8.1 on my latop half way through the install. After the second attempt, it went through and it looks gorgeous.
